Colombia. After more than four decades in the paints and coatings sector, Pinturas BLER is embarking on a new stage with a clear commitment to sustainability, innovation and generational transition.
The company, which recently completed an internal reorganization process, is now led by the third generation of the family, with the aim of consolidating its presence in the Colombian market.
Among the changes implemented, the incorporation of sustainable practices in its production processes stands out, such as the reduction of wastewater emissions and the installation of solar panels to improve energy efficiency. In addition, the company has strengthened its product offering with low environmental impact paints, including water-based formulations that minimize the emission of volatile organic compounds.
"Our purpose is to make Pinturas BLER a leading company in sustainability and competitiveness. We generate our own energy, offer a wide portfolio of environmentally responsible products and strengthen our distribution network nationwide, promoting greater closeness, accompaniment and communication with our customers," said José William Ruiz Jr., recently appointed commercial manager of the company.
Products and market expansion
One of the company's most recent developments is BLER Slate, a water-based varnish that transforms any surface into an erasable board, an alternative to traditional chalk slates. They have also focused on specialized industrial paints for sectors such as health, education and food, complying with specific hygiene and safety regulations.
Pinturas BLER operates nationwide with a consolidated distribution network, generating 120 direct jobs and more than 500 indirect jobs. The company also participates in labor inclusion programs for young people without experience and mothers who are heads of household.
Projections and challenges of the sector
The Colombian paint market, the second largest in South America after Brazil, continues to grow. It is estimated that by the end of 2024 sales in the country will exceed 1,000 million dollars, with a projected annual growth of 2.8% in the next five years. In this context, Pinturas BLER seeks to position itself as one of the main players in the sector by 2025, with a strategy that combines innovation, expansion and sustainability.
This new stage of the company reflects a broader trend in the paint industry in Colombia: the search for more sustainable and efficient solutions in an increasingly demanding market.
