International. WACKER has developed an improved version of its successful silicone resin hardener for epoxy-polysiloxane coatings: SILRES HP 2000 LV.
This new product offers the same high-performance properties as the SILRES HP 2000, but with a key advantage: a significant reduction in volatile compound content, which improves safety in its processing and application.
Epoxy-polysiloxane coatings formulated with SILRES® HP 2000 LV create shiny, highly weather-resistant metal surfaces. Unlike conventional systems, this technology allows the development of isocyanate-free coatings, which retain their shine and protective properties even after years of exposure to UV radiation and adverse weather conditions.
In addition to offering excellent corrosion protection, especially when combined with suitable primers, this hardener allows for the formulation of two-coat systems, reducing costs compared to traditional three-coat systems.
Fewer volatile compounds, greater safety
One of the most significant improvements of SILRES® HP 2000 LV is its lower content of volatile compounds, including cyclic methyl siloxanes and methoxymethyl silanes, which are now below 0.1%. This reduction eliminates the labeling requirements associated with these compounds, expanding the product's potential applications and making it easier to use in industrial environments with strict regulations.

The improved purity of the hardener not only supports occupational safety, but also benefits paint manufacturers and processors by providing a safer and more efficient product.
In a context where sustainability is increasingly a priority, SILRES® HP 2000 LV responds to the needs of the sector by enabling the formulation of coatings with a high solids content. These coatings require fewer solvents, which reduces environmental impact, and their durability decreases the frequency of renovations, optimizing the use of resources.
With this innovation, WACKER reaffirms its commitment to the development of advanced solutions for the coatings industry, combining high performance, safety and sustainability.
