Dow Chemical to Reduce Labor and Production Expenses

altUnited States. The chemicals company Dow Chemical revealed that over the next two years it plans to eliminate 2,400 jobs in all its global headquarters, 5% of its workforce and close more than 20 production centers.

Thus, in the next two years the multinational will close, in addition to the production facilities in Ribaforada, a plant in Belgium and another in the Netherlands, as well as several centers in the USA, a factory in the United Kingdom and another in Japan.

Dow will also reduce its investments and capital expenditures, additional measures with which it expects to lower its operating costs by $500 million annually.

The chemical multinational reported in the third quarter a fall in its profits of 35.3%.
