Korea. Albemarle Corporation, whose Latin America headquarters are located in Brazil, announced that its member of directors authorized the development of the final stages of construction for the expansion of the plant in Yeosu, Korea.
Commercial quantities of finished catalysts and components used in the polymer industry will be produced at this plant.
The additional production capacity authorized by the company's managers will be focused on the development of products that include high purity trimethyl gallium (TMG), triethylalumin gallium (TEG) and trimethyl (TMA), which are used for the manufacture of chips for semiconductors, LEDs and optoelectronic devices.
The project is expected to begin implementation in early 2013.
