United States. According to information from the American Chemistry Council (ACC) published in its book "Guide to the Business of Chemistry", for every job in the chemical industry, 7.6 jobs are generated in related sectors.
Industries such as construction, transportation and agriculture create around six million jobs dependent on chemistry. Currently, the United States is the largest producer of chemicals in the world, providing 15% of such products, accounting for 12% of all its exports.
The report also notes that this is one of the largest manufacturing industries in the country generating $760 billion, providing 788,000 good-paying jobs in the United States.
