Glasurit®, BASF's automotive refinish brand, announced the winner of its 6th edition of the "Rewarding the Best Automotive Painter" competition. First place went to Adrián Guadalupe, from Uruguay, who received an international trip for two people as a prize.
With the participation of more than 800 painting professionals from Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Uruguay, this contest aims to recognize the skill, knowledge and professionalization of the most outstanding car painters in the region.
During the contest, participants were evaluated in both theoretical and practical knowledge, through a mixed virtual and face-to-face modality. The tests were carried out at different local stages in the participating countries, and after passing the regional phase, eight finalists faced each other in the final stage, held at the Refinish Competence Center® of the BASF plant in Tortuguitas, Buenos Aires.
The specialized jury, made up of leaders in the automotive refinishing sector, evaluated the technical quality and skill in the preparation and application of color on automotive parts.
The final results were as follows:
- 1st Place: Adrián Guadalupe (Uruguay)
- 2nd Place: Ricardo Pallotta (Carhué, Buenos Aires, Argentina)
- 3rd Place: Lucas Quiroga (Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina)
In this edition, the Refinity® virtual platform played a central role in the evaluation process, allowing participants to explore new digital tools and capabilities to improve efficiency and competitiveness in their workshops. In addition, the contestants worked with eco-efficient products, based on water-based formulas, aligned with BASF's commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.
The award ceremony was held at the Mustang Club stand during the brand's 60th anniversary, at the traditional classic car fair "Autoclásica", which took place at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, Buenos Aires.

Constanza De Benedetti, Technical Sales Support Manager of BASF's Automotive Refinish division for Latin America, said: "This is a very special cycle, and we are excited to be able to recognize the best automotive refinishing professionals, who are the true ambassadors of our brand. This competition not only rewards technical ability, but also our participants' commitment to excellence and innovation."
