International. The Heubach Group GmbH published its first sustainability report for the financial year 2017 which allows readers to learn about sustainability issues relevant to the company.
As a medium-sized company, Heubach is currently not required to publish a sustainability report. Despite this, the company has voluntarily decided to make known in a transparent way to interested persons its social, ecological and economic commitment based on the German sustainability code.
"Our shareholders' confidence in responsible and legal behaviour is of vital importance for the long-term success and reputation of the Heubach GmbH Group. For this reason, it is obvious for us, as an internationally active company, to act in a sustainable way in addressing the needs of current and future generations," says Dr. Reiner Martens, Managing Director of Heubach GmbH.
Concentration on the fundamentals
To identify the key issues, the chemie3 initiative's sustainability check was used. By focusing on sustainability management, products, environmental protection and employee responsibility, the current state of the learning process and the concrete objectives and measures for greater sustainability are revealed.
For Heubach, the publication of this first sustainability report is an important milestone. With it, an analysis of the situation has been carried out that allows to unify in a focused way the activities in the field of sustainability, to guide them strategically and to continue promoting them. "We are already very well positioned in some sustainability reports. Within the process initiated, the integration of the different individual themes into a comprehensive sustainability management will now take place," explains Birgit Genn, Managing Director of Heubach GmbH.
