International. PPG presented the colors that will be trending in 2019 for the brand through its line of Dulux paints.
The brand has named two shades of dark green as Colors of the Year for 2019: Night Watch (DLX1145-7), an intense dark green color from the brand's new color collection, and Mojito Shimmer (036VS), a bright, dark green glow from Dulux Effects' Venetian Silk collection.
"These two colors represent the ultimate in luxury, offering a rich and eye-catching look that brings sophistication and depth to the living spaces," said Martin Tustin-Fuchs, PPG brand manager, PPG's Dulux Paints. "An evolution of last year's popular dyed black, these glamorous dark greens are a symbol of consumers' desire for positive change: moving from darkness to twilight and seeking an element of rebirth in today's complex and technologically driven world."
Night Watch, a color inspired by nature, emulates the feeling of lush vegetation and provides a feeling of relaxing and exhilarating euphoria. With the ability to be used as neutral, but with intensity that also stands out as an accent color, Night Watch pairs well with soft gray browns or warm sand tones, such as Elusion (DLX1005-2) or Earthy Cane (DLX1103 -4), or intense oxide tones such as Lucky Penny (DLX1201-7) from the Dulux Paints by PPG color palette.
According to Tustin-Fuchs, Mojito Shimmer is the perfect complement to Night Watch as it features a distinctive, lustrous, frosty green coating that adds unprecedented class and wow to the walls.
The Dulux Venetian Silk finish is made of a new technology that allows users to transform their walls in a single day, infusing them with a color that reflects light and a texture that adapts to any personal taste. Available in 40 striking colors that enliven the light, the finish produces a silky layered effect that is soft to the touch, creating a distinctive luminous and multitonal surface that adds surprising depth to the walls.
