Brazil. The specialty chemical company Lanxess presented its range of products for the manufacture of paints and coatings at Abrafati 2017, which takes place between October 3 and 5, at the São Paulo Expo. Among the big novelties are the new iron oxide pigments produced at the company's factory in Ningbo, China.
In addition, on this occasion it was possible to know the most recent biocides, ecological dyes and urethanes for surface coatings.
With its iron oxide and chromium, Bayferrox and Colortherm product lines, Lanxess provides a portfolio of inorganic pigments of more than 100 shades of color. "Our decades of experience in manufacturing quality products and in developing and optimizing processes separate us from many of our competitors," says Dr. Hans-Peter Baldus, Vice President of the Americas for Lanxess' Inorganic Pigments (IPG) business unit. "Driven by the urbanization trend, we continually invest in new technologies to meet the demand for high-performance pigments that are produced sustainably."
The Rhein Chemie business unit presented its portfolio of water-based pigment preparations: Levanyl and Levanox. With an ideally proportioned pigment volume concentration, the inorganic dispersions of the Levanox series obtain excellent results in opacity, light resistance and chemical resistance. The high resistance of these products means that they can be used in construction and coatings.
Instead, the especially balanced content of organic pigments makes the Levanyl range particularly bright and colourful. These products are mainly used in dyes and coatings, protection and printing on wood.
In Biocides, manufacturers of paints and coatings are increasingly demanding and demand more ecological products. The new product range of the Material Protection Products (MPP) business unit is equipped to meet these market challenges, proposing sensitizer-free products with less leaching of active ingredients, allowing customers to modify the strategy for preservatives as needed.
