Venezuela. Oxiteno announced the tenth anniversary of the company with a presence in Venezuela, recognizing the challenges facing that country these days, but ensuring that it continues to invest in improvements for that market.
"We have invested in protection systems to keep the Santa Rita plant operating under the safety standards required to handle ethylene oxide, highlighting the installation of the new refrigeration unit (called Chiller) which controls the temperature of the ethylene oxide tanks; in addition, investment has been made in the replacement of the fire system. The Unit is also conducting refresher training on the ISO 9001 standard (which now has a new version) and the Operator Training Program, which is a training project for recent graduate engineers," explains Antonio Carlos Borriero, general manager of Oxiteno Venezuela.
Despite the challenges faced in the region, the company seeks to maintain the safety and operation of its production unit. The targets for 2017 and 2018 are ambitious. "We want to optimize the use of assets, increase cost control and improve the profitability of the region to develop the performance of our company in Venezuela," says Antonio.
Currently, Oxiteno has a commercial office in Caracas, a plant in Santa Rita, Zulia state and 70 employees that make the operation in the country possible. "We celebrate our 10 years with enthusiasm and reaffirming our commitment to continue betting on Venezuela," Borriero said.
