LOT Polish Airlines chose a new PPG chrome-free aerospace coating system for corrosion resistance, because it is eco-friendly and offers superior shine for repainting three Embraer E175 Jets and a 737-400 aircraft.
The chromium-free high solid polyurethane primers, Desoprime 7065, applied over the Desoprime CFWP 7530 chromium-free primer pretreatment are designed to work together to inhibit corrosion. LOT Polish Airlines aircraft were also painted with high solids Desothane HS 8800 which has excellent color and brightness retention, so they must maintain their appearance for years.
LOT Polish Airlines is the first European airline to use the ppG primer and topcoat system to paint complete aircraft.
"LOT Polish Airlines likes the high gloss of the Desothane HS 8800 finish, which they had previously used for their 85th anniversary livery and to paint other aircraft," said Ralf Maubach, PPG sales manager. "We introduced them into the new PPG primer system because it is eco-friendly and offers exceptional corrosion resistance."
