INX International Ink Co. has reached an agreement to buy Creative Industria e Comercio Ltda., a manufacturer of printing inks in Sao Paulo. Founded 20 years ago in 1996, Creative has become a major manufacturer of flexographic packaging and engraving inks in South America.
As a result of this agreement, Rick Clendenning, President and CEO of INX International Ink Co., believes that a combination of factors will strengthen INX's position in Brazil and South America.
"Creative is a well-respected and well-known top-notch ink supplier throughout South America. CFO Guilherme Ribeiro and the management team have dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to establishing the business. They built it using their market experience and technical know-how," Clendenning said. "Moving forward, pooling their expertise with our global reach, product development and raw material sourcing capabilities will help us provide best-ink technologies and expand our ink packaging portfolio in South America."
Pedro Americo Ribeiro opened Creative in 1996, producing varnishes for packaging. Two years later, the family business produced inks. By 2002, the company had expanded its distribution network. Over time, additional growth and increased sales volume led to an operation that today employs 64 people working at a 107,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Sao Paulo.
