The company Dürr presented the new automotive paint system in the form of the new EcoRP E043i robot. The new system works with seven axes of movement, surpassing the conventional ones that do it with six.
With this new technology, the Dürr robot opens up new and potential cost-cutting options. The third generation of Dürr robots, which was presented on October 24, is controlled by the new EcoRCMP 2 intelligent robot controller.
The seventh axis allows rotational movements of the robot base. This makes the robot more flexible and substantially expands its working range. As a result, it is able to reach many more sections of the body of the car, especially when it comes to interior paint. Since the robot is highly mobile, in many cases it is possible to do without a displacement lane in the paint booth.
With traditional robot designs, the rail has been necessary for the robot to move up and down parallel to the body. Their omission reduces investment costs and the space required. The latter is particularly important when updating existing paint shops. Dürr also offers a new generation of manipulator robots to complement the new painting robot. These, open pueras and hood on the body for interior painting.
