AkzoNobel and Shanghai Jing'an Government District signed a strategic agreement of understanding (MOU) to initiate AkzoNobel China's first flagship project under its global Human Cities initiative.
The partnership aims to revitalize cultural and recreational community spaces to support the sustainable development of the community in Jing'an.
In the initial phase of the collaboration, AkzoNobel will help renovate the four historic sites in Jing'an, offering product, financing and coating services. The company will help restore historic Bubbling Well Lane, Jing'an Culture Center, Siming Sports Lane and Community Cultural Service Stations throughout the district.
AkzoNobel's Human Cities initiative was launched globally in 2014 and has since helped create more welcoming and inspiring public spaces around the world. In Amsterdam, the company helped restore the famous Rijksmuseum. In the historic state of Malacca in Malaysia, he helped change the color and preserve 26 heritage buildings and monuments at the heart of the state's world heritage site. And recently in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the company launched a program to create zones that inspire children to try various sports in amazing places.
