Mexico.
As part of its global community engagement efforts, PPG completed a project called Colorful Communities that helped beautify Bethel, an orphanage that serves about 30 children from San Luis Rio Colorado.
PPG Comex employees joined additional volunteers to help revitalize the spaces used by Bethel residents, and PPG awarded $20,000 including paints and materials to fund the project.
The initiative provides volunteers and products along with financial contributions that bring color and vitality to the communities where PPG operates around the world. The program increases the company's commitment to investing in communities by adding $10 million to support efforts over a 10-year period.
"We are thrilled that the Colorful Communities program is bringing smiles to our employees and our neighbors in Mexico. The main objective is to beautify the neighborhoods we call "home", investing in them, especially when the need is great. In addition, the projects encourage volunteerism, which builds the morale of our employees and empowers them to create positive change in their communities," said Lidya Fresnedo, PPG Comex.
