Anti-corrosion alloys from South Korea will receive a high level of tariffs from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The bloomberg economic portal revealed that the entity sent a statement to Korean steel companies, such as Hyundai and POSCO, notifying that they will impose 34.3% and 6.3%, respectively, of anti-dumping duties on anti-corrosion steels.
The decision is due to the fact that in the United States these products are being sold at a lower price than the standard price, which generates dumping.
This is why, when adding other taxes, the total tariff for such products will be 64.7% for POSCO and 38.2% for Hyundai.
However, the measure needs to be finally approved by the U.S. International Trade Committee, which will meet on September 3.
