In line with its commitment to green chemistry, Arkema has partnered with industrial coatings companies to bring Synolac bio-based resins to market, which respond to the challenges of this sector.
The construction market, the direct participation of final consumers, has been demanding innovations in green growth, durability and performance. For several years now, Arkema has developed a unique expertise in bio-based resins for the coatings markets; the company now offers a technology platform (patent pending) that relies heavily on new products.
As part of Sorago, a French consortium dedicated to pre-coated metal technology and applications, Arkema offers resins that can be characterized by having up to 100% bio-based carbon content. Used in formulations, these new resins produce a coating with a bio-based carbon content of up to 70%, as well as equivalent, if not higher, performance compared to traditional coatings.
