Specialty chemical group Altana announced that it has acquired Dutch company Addcomp Holland BV, a developer and manufacturer of polymer additive solutions. Addcomp will be integrated into the Plastic Additives business line of Altana's largest division: BYK Additives & Instruments.
The acquisition adds a wide range of additive solutions with different functionalities, such as fog, improved processing, fire retardants, heat stabilization and UV, which have the BYK portfolio.
Addcomp is a company that applies masterbatch technology to achieve excellent dispersion, to simplify the handling of additives as difficult as liquid and viscous materials, and to provide higher concentrations of additives. The company, headquartered in Nijverdal, the Netherlands, employs 45 people and operates production facilities and sales offices in Nijverdal and Rochester Hills, Michigan.
