The Training for the Future Agreement Ecopetrol – Sena, and the OIE, (Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture) developed training programs for personnel in surface treatments and application of industrial coatings in the departments of Huila, Meta between March 28 and May 7 of this year.
The program included practical workshops for abrasive jet surface preparation, manual and mechanical methods, as well as coating application and quality control in painting systems.
They conducted theoretical sessions on the basic fundamentals of corrosion, surface preparation, industrial coating technology, application methods, handling and care in the application of coatings with spray equipment, quality control assurance and defectology in industrial coatings, and safe practices during the processes of preparation of surfaces with abrasive jet and application of coatings.
The overall coordination of the project was in charge of the OIE. The Colombian Association of Corrosion and Protection – ASCOR, supported the project as a strategic ally.
