AkzoNobel announced that it will combine the sales and marketing teams of its liquid and powder coatings companies that serve aluminum architecture and the façade and enclosure markets.
"Because liquid and powder coatings are not always interchangeable in aluminum applications, it is important for customers to understand which is more suitable," said Ben Mitchell, Extrusion Coatings Manager at AkzoNobel. "Having a combined team will ensure a unified approach to help designers, manufacturers and specifiers select the optimal solution for their project."
The new equipment builds on an effort to educate industry professionals about powder options and liquid coatings for aluminum, Mitchell added. These include a research paper by AkzoNobel presented at the 2015 Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Council Conference and in the AEC Daily continuing education course "High Performance Coatings for Aluminum Fenestration".
