The congress of the specialized sector of paints and coatings for the Andean region, and which was agreed for April 20 and 21 in Medellín, will not be held in 2016.
The Board of Directors of STAR (Association of Andean Technicians in Coatings), confirmed this in a statement in which it stated that "taking into account that the forecasts of the year for the sector are not the best, that the changing TRM has generated distrust in investments and that some companies, which have traditionally accompanied us, expressed their intention not to participate via stand due to prudent policies in the generation of investments or expenses, we inform that the decision was made to cancel the Andina Paint 2016 event; this event was scheduled to take place next April and already had the presence of several important players in the sector."
The organizers of the event, which also has an important academic component, also thanked the companies that had already confirmed their participation: "It is our commitment to hold events with excellent participation, both on stand and in public, and we are being responsible with those companies that have wanted to accompany us. To the companies that had already booked the stand, we want to thank them for the trust placed in their association, and we want to invite them to the events that will soon be promoted and carried out."
