In Centro Banamex, the traditional Anafapyt Gala Dinner 2016 was held, an important evening of the paints, coatings and inks sector, where associates and personalities of the industry were recognized.
With more than 350 attendees, the ceremony, which took place on January 23, began with the recount of the achievements made during 2015, such as having a greater number of national associates and new international associates, the creation of the Mexican Institute of Technicians in Paints and Inks (IMTPyT) in Guadalajara, as well as an Anafapyt headquarters in this city, and greater number of attendees in the different events, being one of the most important, the Anafapyt Latin American Coatings Show (LACS) with more than 70 exhibiting companies.
The "Tlacuilo Dorado" award was also presented, which recognizes the trajectory of a person who has contributed to the growth of the sector. This year Eng. Quím was awarded. Jaime Cordero Basave, who has worked for more than 50 years in the industry. He emphasized the importance of new technologies in the field of coatings, working together with suppliers and technicians.
In addition to the recognition of the more than 50 Associates attending the Gala Dinner, Eng. Alejandro Morones Dobarganes, former president of the Association, emphasized the importance of investing in the training of technicians in the paints, inks and coatings sector of the country, as well as improving the infrastructure that makes up the industry.
After the protest and delivery of recognitions to the new Board of Directors of the IMTPyT and the Board of Directors of the Anafapyt, Mr. Javier G. Maldonado Moctezuma was appointed as the new president of the Association. Among the points to highlight that he mentioned, the Anafapyt brand will be analyzed as a seal of quality for associates; the continuation of commissions working to improve labelling, transport and services standards for manufacturers; and participate in the promotion of the aeronautical and automotive industry with the launch of a production line.
