Brazil. Clariant, a specialty chemical company, was recognized as one of the most sustainable companies in the Brazilian chemical sector, according to the 2015 Exame Sustainability Guide.
The evaluation of the Exame Sustainability Guide took into account various aspects of the company's management model, including initiatives in the areas of Performance, People and Planet, as well as their performance in the supply chain.
Among Clariant's projects, the highlight was the implementation of the portfolio value program (PVP). For the implementation of this program at a global level, the company had the support of the CSCP (Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production) to develop a well-defined set of 36 criteria for the classification of its products. The process takes into account social, environmental and performance factors. Clariant grants its EcoTain seal to those products that present the best sustainability and high performance, providing its customers with a clear indicator of their added value.
"Creating value with sustainability is one of Clariant's strategic pillars, demonstrating our clear commitment to associating innovation with sustainability, supporting our customers and generating benefits for society. The recognition of the Exame Guide shows that we are on the right track," says Mônica Ferreira Vassimon, President of Clariant for Latin America.
