With a total of 18 academic conferences and three complementary talks, Cubrecol Americas officially launched its programming for the 2011 edition, which will be held in Medellín, Colombia, between September 29 and 30. The presence of Cidepint, Ecopetrol, Isa and Venmark are some of the main attractions. 

The great novelty is borne by the formulation room, in which companies from all over the region participate. Topics such as resins, solvents and nanotechnology will be addressed by experts such as Julián Restrepo, who is part of the advisory committee and recently completed his PhD in Green Chemistry, in Spain. 

The organization of Cubrecol Americas 2011 confirmed the realization of guided tours to paint production plants and application centers, so that attendees can analyze in the field the information received at the conferences.

The visits will take place on Wednesday, September 28, one day before the start of the fair, and will be led by certified technicians in the different companies of the paints and coatings sector.

With the commitment to continue delivering quality content and providing added values to the paints and coatings industry, Cubrecol Americas 2011 has confirmed the integration of a committee of experts who will delimit the themes of the congress according to the needs of the industry.

The group is composed of:

Roberto Romagnoli: Dr. Chemical and Analytical Sciences. Vice Director of the Center for Research and Development in Paint Technology, CIDEPINT, Argentina.

Julián Restrepo: MSc. PhD. Sustainable Chemistry and Technological Leader of Paints at Invesa, Sapolín.

Félix Echeverría, PhD in Corrosion and Director of the Corrosion Research Group of the University of Antioquia.

Quilyam Casallas: MS. Economic Sciences and Corrosion Specialist. President of the Colombian Association of Corrosion and Head of Metal Line in Sika Colombia.

Juan Carlos Velásquez: Maintenance line and marina manager of Compañía Global de Pinturas.

For seven consecutive years, CUBRECOL AMERICAS has positioned itself as one of the most important scenarios for the training of paint and coating applicators, serving more than 150 professionals from all over Latin America each year.

Aware of the current demands of the market, the coordinating team of the academic component of CUBRECOL AMERICAS decided to extend the time granted to each talk so that both speakers and attendees can analyze more calmly and analyze each of the topics.

Thus, in 2011 the conferences offered will last two hours, intermediated by rest periods (breaks), visits to the commercial exhibition and lunches. In this way, it will be sought to have even better quality in the contents, without overloading the attendees.

With this strategy, CUBRECOL AMERICAS seeks to consolidate itself as the point of updating par excellence for suppliers, formulators and applicators in Latin America, as well as a great showcase to exhibit new products, generate new contacts and business opportunities.
