Brazil. The 18th edition of the Abrafati Show, Latin America's premier paint industry event, stood out as the biggest of all time.
The event, held between November 21 and 23, was attended by 248 exhibitors, 135 national and 113 international, distributed in more than 20,000 square meters of the São Paulo Expo.
It was attended by 1,250 congress attendees and 11,987 visitors, almost 10% more than in 2022, thus making it the largest edition in terms of occupied area and visitors.
In addition to highlighting the unrestricted return of international participants, the fair also focused on offsetting their environmental impact.
"This year marked the return of foreign exhibitors to the Abrafati Show; demonstrating that it is a consolidated event at a global level," said João Paulo Picolo, CEO of the event.
The most sustainable edition to date implemented actions to neutralize the carbon footprint and promoted the use of 100% sustainable stands. Concern for sustainability was reflected in waste management and diversity in staff recruitment.
Despite the difficulty in quantifying the business generated, the event's business roundtable mobilized nearly R$18 million in two hours, which exceeded the values of the previous version. The next one, in 2025, will return to its original format.
Luiz Cornacchioni, executive president of Abrafati, said the event reflects the global relevance of the Brazilian paint industry and anticipates greater responsibility for future editions.
"This was seen in the always crowded halls, in the stands with meetings all the time, in the movement and quality of the lectures at the International Congress of Paintings," he revealed.
