United States. The American company Sauereisen received for the second time the presidential award "E Star", the highest recognition that any U.S. entity can receive, for its significant contribution to the expansion of American exports, on May 23 in the city of Washington.
The honors were presented to Sauereisen and 47 other U.S. companies by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, and it becomes one of four companies to have received the "E Star" Award for the second time in the program's history. In a congratulatory letter received by the company, Secretary Ross praised Sauereisen for demonstrating "a sustained commitment to export expansion."
"The 'E' Awards Committee was very impressed with Sauereisen's continued growth in exports since it received the 'E' Award for Exports from the President in 1978 and the 'E Star' Award for Exports in 2010," Secretary Ross wrote in the letter.
"His company's innovative marketing and personalized go-to-market programs were particularly remarkable. The committee also recognized his company's commitment to promoting exports within its community and the Nation. It is fitting that with this record of success, Sauereisen becomes the fourth company in the 58-year history of this awards program to twice receive the 'E Star' Award. Sauereisen's achievements have undoubtedly contributed to domestic export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create U.S. jobs, "the document states.
Eric Sauereisen, president of Sauereisen, says, "From our agents in the field to our manufacturing staff in Pittsburgh, this award is a tremendous recognition of the dedication and collaboration of our entire team."
In 2018, U.S. exports were the highest on record in the country, with services at $821.1 billion and exports of goods from the U.S. at $1.7 trillion.
