Clariant expands its portfolio of oxidation catalysts with the new VAMax series, which offers high activity for producers of Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM).

VAM is produced by the reaction of ethylene and acetic acid with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst. It is an essential element for several polymers and derived co-polymers, which find various applications in the manufacture of paints, adhesives and plastics for the automotive and construction industry.

Clariant's VAMax series of catalysts has demonstrated consistency and high performance in commercial production at VAM scale. Its high-activity feature allows VAM producers to seek to increase production and throughput with the same equipment base.
