International. Santiago Piedrahíta already serves as the new president of the World Group, a company that runs a conglomerate of companies among which are those of paintings, with Pintuco and the Kativo Group at the head.
After the support of the board of directors, Piedrahíta replaces the outgoing Ernesto Fajardo, who since last August 2012 notified his departure from the group at the end of December of the same year. The new president is Colombian, a mechanical engineer with a master's degree in corporate finance. He previously served as vice president of business development and has been with the group for 16 years.
Santiago Piedrahíta welcomes the World Group with 5,000 employees and presence in 16 countries in Latin America. Some of its goals include maintaining competitiveness in the field of paints through Pintuco (a company that grants half of the group's profits) and continuing growth in other strategic businesses such as chemical industries, water, commerce, packaging and inks.
Fajardo, for his part, announced that he has not yet defined his future and is currently analyzing proposals.
