International. Shepherd Color reported on the recent launch of its new line of yellow and orange pigments.
The yellow pigment NPT (Niobium Tin Pyrochlore) is inorganic and enlarges the color envelope. It is defined as a bridge that connects the high chromaticity of organic pigments with the durability and opacity of inorganic pigments. The Yellow NTP 10C151 is designed for coatings and paints, while the 10P150 is specifically designed for plastics applications.
RtZ orange pigments (Rutile Tin Zinc - 10C341 for coatings and 10P340 for plastics) offer greater redness and heat stability, as well as excellent erosion resistance.
They also replace colors based on lead chromate pigments and provide chemists and formulators with high-performance, environmentally friendly alternative dyes. For plastics, pigments offer bright, stable colors at high temperatures for engineering polymers. The inherent stability makes them able to withstand the high pH of inorganic binder systems.
