Germany. The chemical company has planned several events around the world to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2013. These will focus on its more than 110,000 employees and will be shared with its customers and partners, as well as holding symposia for the scientific community.
"Needless to say, we want to use our anniversary to make bayer's name even better known around the world," said Michael Schade, Bayer's corporate communications representative. The company has prepared an exhibition where it will visualize topics related to health care, agriculture and high-performance materials. This exhibition is scheduled to visit more than 20 sites around the world.
In fiscal year 2011, the Bayer group employed around 112,000 people and had sales of €36.5 billion. Capital expenditures amounted to €1.7 billion, research and development expenses rose to €2.9 billion.
