United States. DuPont Powder Coatings announced that it has transitioned its DuPont™ Alesta® RAL product line from the standard triglycidyl isocyanirate (Tgic) to hydroxyalkylamide (HAA) free of the chemical Tgci.
DuPont Powder said it has more than 20 years of experience in the formulation of HAAs and believes that the trend in North America will reflect the transition of polyesters from Tgci to HAA as it already happens in other regions of the world.
The company further reports that the Alesta powder product line is a more sustainable solution, meeting or exceeding AAMA 2603 specifications, and offering improved weather performance, loading (transfer efficiency), curing response and storage stability.
