Brazil. On October 1, the project to acquire Arkema, a subsidiary of Coatex, by the Brazilian producer of acrylic additives and emulsions Resicryl, was closed, which was announced on July 16.
Arkema assures that this transaction is perfectly adapted to the Group's strategy that seeks to increase its presence in countries with high growth, particularly in Latin America, and strengthen its integration into acrylic activities.
The production center that has been acquired, located in Araçariguama on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, will be part of Coatex, a company that already has commercial operations in Brazil. Coatex's current sales in that nation and those generated by the new headquarters will represent a turnover of about US$20 million.
