International. Basf announced that it will acquire the company Becker Underwood, a global supplier of technologies such as biological treatment of seeds, dyes and polymers, among others.
The chemical multinational reached an agreement with Norwest Equity Partners (NEP), a company that since 2004 managed Becker within its portfolio of companies. The amount of the transaction was US$1.02 billion.
Becker Underwood has 10 production units and 479 employees, and at the end of the fiscal year (September 30) expects to reach sales of US$240 million.
