Germany. Lanxess announced that it will upgrade its water treatment facilities for the production of inorganic pigments. The company is investing 1.6 million euros in the project located in the European nation.
The purpose of the investment is to modernize and expand this unit as the largest facility for the production of iron oxide pigments and chromium oxide. The expansion project will also increase the ability to synthesize black and red Bayferrox pigments.
The project began last March. "Another positive effect is the fact that the expansion of our water treatment unit will lay the foundation for future expansion projects of the inorganic pigments business unit," said Birgit Blankemeyer-Menge, Global Production Manager at Lanxess.
