Germany. Bayer MaterialScience participated again in the final design of the official tango 12 ball of the European Football Championship to be held next June in Ukraine and Polynia.
The German company explained that "the outer layer of the balloon consists of a total of five layers of polyurethane based on the raw materials of its Impranil product line. These layers provide optimal contact with the player's foot and very good control in any weather conditions. The innermost layer is an adhesion coating that joins the textile substrate with the upper layers," said Thomas Michaelis, project manager for the development of the balloon at Bayer MaterialScience.
The balloon also features three layers of compact polyurethane of different thicknesses. This not only makes the surface highly resistant to external factors and abrasion, but also highly elastic, ensuring that the ball retains its unique appearance in the long run.
Another of the raw materials designed by the German company for this product is a thermo-activated adhesive, which is based on a dispersion of water-based polyurethane and contributes to the absorption of the balloon against moisture.
