International. A new report on the adhesives and sealants market presented by SBI indicates that an appraisal of US$22 billion was submitted in 2011 compared to US$19.5 billion in 2006. Which indicates that after several years of stagnation, this sector is again showing a recovery.
The third edition of the study, "Adhesives and Sealants: Global Markets," indicates that sealants (both structural and non-structural) comprise the fastest growing sectors in the industry. The annual growth rates of the last five years of both sealants registered 3.7% and 3.1%, respectively.
Synthetic resin and rubber adhesives accounted for the largest market value in 2011, posting more than $10.1 billion, while growth in natural glues and adhesives continues to maintain a steady pace since 2006, with a $1.3 billion mark.
