The Inversiones Mundial group, integrated into the industrial, chemical and consumer markets, reached sales of about US$1,121,000 million (1.98 trillion pesos) last year, an increase of 16% over the previous year. One of the most important incentives for this increase was the paint market, which under its brand Pintuco de Colombia grew by 10% over the course of the last year.
As reported by the company, the positive dynamics in the commercialization of polyester chemicals and coatings, in addition to the increase in the sale of paints were the keys for 2011 to leave this positive balance.
The growth of the Pintuco brand coincided with the Colombian winter wave as it was promoted as an option for the protection of surfaces exposed to the weather. It is also noteworthy that ICO was consolidated as a national option in economic paintings.
Regarding chemicals, the company reports as a milestone in 2011 the use of Andercol polyester in large projects such as the ARC vessel. In its annual report, the company states that it "continued with its internal transformation to strengthen itself as a multinational group of Colombian origin with a focus on Latin America."
