International. Dow announced plans to invest in a new manufacturing facility for its Dow Coating Materials business unit, which will be located in Saudi Arabia from where the products will be exported to its markets around the world.
The company operates 43 manufacturing plants and 13 dedicated to research in the main markets of the world. The business provides products for the architectural and industrial industry. The new plant is the latest in a series of investments announced by the company in the Middle Eastern country. In July 2011, Dow and Saudi Aramco announced an agreement to form the chemical company Sadara.
"By investing again in a coatings facility in Saudi Arabia, we are getting closer to our regional customers, and realizing our business objectives in a key growth market for Dow," said Jerome Peribere, executive vice president of Dow Chemical Company.
"We are committed to helping our customers rethink coatings, working closely with paint and coating from formulators around the world to develop cutting-edge technologies that differentiate themselves. Our new investment in Saudi Arabia will deliver the solutions our regional customers want, without jeopardizing the price or sustainability profile."
