As an opportunity to grow, learn and improve, the managers of the expert company in the production of chemical inputs and paints, Invesa-Sapolín, saw the technical visits carried out within the framework of Cubrecol Américas 2011.
During the tour of the production plant, José Ignacio Arango, marketing and sales manager of Invesa-Sapolín, said that "thanks to this initiative we have the opportunity to share with other companies close to our sector, to have a continuous improvement that allows us to work with a spirit of cooperation that benefits the development of the industry".
In the plant located in the municipality of Girardota, north of Medellín, architectural, industrial, wood, waterproofing and adhesive coatings are manufactured. It also has a lithographic unit in which metal containers are produced for some of the company's product lines.
Precisely, Jaime Alberto Galeano, coordinator of the production plant of paints, metal containers and lithography, said that "we saw the importance of having the lithography in metal sheet for the subsequent elaboration of the container, because it is a competitive advantage in the lines of low volumes for the flexibility and control that allows us to directly manage the process".
The reaction of the attendees was also very positive, Evelyn García of Qímicas Quimsa, for example, highlighted the order and organization of the host company; He also pointed out that he learned a lot about the processes and especially about equipment that they in his company do not yet have.
Finally, Arango pointed out on the issue of the state of the Colombian market compared to other Latin American countries that "we have competitive advantages in terms of the production of paints, although Colombia needs a greater development of infrastructure, especially roads, to enhance the development of all economic sectors."
