Hexion and Vanora
Hexion's VeoVa vinyl ester monomer is the key component of the DXV.4229 biocidal biocide water-based binder solution developed by Vanora, and voC-free for environmentally friendly paints and coatings.
The solution combines VeoVa with acrylate monomers to develop a dispersion with biocides, which are active chemical molecules that can be used to control or inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms.
This dispersion contains soluble glass, also known as sodium silicate, to increase pH and a stabilized hydrophobic polymer based on the Vinyl Ester VeoVa. VeoVa vinyl ester provides both alkaline and water resistance, while soluble glass ensures good water vapor diffusion.
The product is suitable for use in paints and plasters for interiors and exteriors.
