Ametek Brookfield's DV2T gel timer viscometer is the replacement for the Sunshine Gel Timer, which features a single compression-fit magnetic coupling to easily attach or separate the glass rod to and from the instrument.
When the gelling time is reached, the display displays the elapsed time and the equivalent viscosity value. In addition, the integrated temperature probe displays peak exothermia data at °C or °F.
The test method can be executed manually or automatically, using the torque time program stored in the instrument's memory. The viscosity data generated during the test can also be useful for the complete characterization of the behavior of the material flow.
The DV2T offers continuous torque detection capability with real-time data visualization, making it a good choice for measuring gel coatings, resins and filler compounds. The DV3T rheometer and DV1M viscometer can also be configured as a timer gel instrument.
Packs of ten glass rods are available and the spare magnetic couplings can be adapted to existing Brookfield viscometers.
