International. Hempel announced the launch of a new medium-layer primer coating designed specifically for wind towers. The new coating will be used in the two-layer anti-corrosion system for this class of towers, in order to address previous UV stability issues.
The two-layer protection system for wind towers (Hempadur 4774D), dries up to 30% faster than equivalent three-layer systems, helping to eliminate the production of bottlenecks, increasing performance and reducing drying costs.
"By switching to our two-layer system, wind tower producers can put a tower through the production process approximately 30% faster, allowing them to produce more towers in each shift. The two-layer system also means less VOC emissions and less paint and waste, which contributes to reducing the overall cost of producing these towers," said Anders Voldsgaard Clausen, Representative of Hempel.
