Spain. In order to accommodate the growing demand for its micronized red iron oxides, Nubiola, Barcelona, has approved an investment to expand production capacity by 10%.
In addition, the company has increased its zinc ferrite production capacity by around 33%, an expansion that came into effect at the end of 2014 in response to the growing demand for these products.
"Global stresses on the supply of iron oxides have resulted in a growing demand for our micronized range, especially for reds," said Fabiana Requeijo, Global Product Manager of Iron Oxides. "We had to expand our production capacity in order to properly serve our customers, and the recently approved investment will allow us to work in this direction. We expect to have this 10% increase in available capacity by the second half of 2015."
