Peru. The Peruvian paint market is forecast to grow at the end of 2014 around 1.4% per year, thanks to the positive performance of the construction guild that is forecast to grow 9.2%.
The study carried out by the consultancy Maximixe also highlights that the average price of latex paint would increase annually by 2%, due to the increase in the value of production, mainly from those that come from the petrochemical sector and due to the demand of the real estate sector; tempera painting, on the other hand, would register an increase of 1.9%.
On the other hand, exports of paints would also register positive figures for the Peruvian market, totaling around US$4.7 million, for 1.1% per year, as a result of the growth in shipments to Latin American countries. Imports would report US$55.6 million for a growth of 4.8% compared to 2013, motivated by the consumption of industrial paints.
