International. In 2014, the pigment manufacturing company Nubiola, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Nubiola specializes in the development of color solutions for the coatings, plastics, construction and cosmetics markets. The company began work in 1914 in Barcelona, and its first production focused on a ultramarine Blues laundry grade to make white cotton clothing look whiter.
The company has four plants dedicated to the production of its pigments and with a specific focus: Iron oxides, zinc ferrites, green chromium oxide, yellow chromium and orange molybdate, corrosion inhibitors and bismuth vanadates. In total, the firm has five production plants and nine commercial posts to serve 85 countries.
"Since its foundation we have focused our growth on the development of high value solutions due to the continuous Research and Development and laboratory applications that took place in Barcelona in 1970. We currently have application laboratories in the USA, Colombia, India and Romania, where our global team of more than 50 highly qualified technicians is constantly innovating," the company's official statement reads.
