International. The chemical firm Mexichem reached an agreement to acquire the entire company of American origin PolyOne, specialized in the manufacture of special resins.
The acquired company has a research center and two production plants for these PVC resins, which will allow the Mexican firm to have a greater participation in the North American market and in other specific niches.
Mexichem executives stressed that in addition to this, the acquisition will allow them to develop tailor-made technologies for their clients and will strengthen the position of the firm "thanks to the intrinsic competitive advantages of the North American region for Shale Gas (shale gas) as well as the vertical integration that Mexichem has", Carlos Manrique, commented director of the Cloro Vinilo chain of Mexichem.
