Mexico. Guido Vildozo, marketing analyst at IHS Global Insight, told a news conference that the global automotive sector will suffer a loss of US$225 billion this year. The specialist explained that a possible recovery would be tangible in mid-2010.Within this figure, a loss of US $ 100,000 million in terms of production during the first four months of the year is contemplated, which represents almost 50% of the total amount of the loss. The analyst explained that the deficit is the product of an adjustment in inventories and the impact of the international crisis that broke out in October last year.
Vildozo also explained that the global installed capacity of the sector is 85 million units and during the first quarter of 2009 the production reached 41 million, so he warned that the shipowners need to reach 65% of their installed capacity to operate in stability.
