International. Omya Bublon, producer of lightweight fillers Omya, a global producer of industrial minerals, acquires Bublon GmbH, a producer of lightweight filler/microsphere technology using closed-cell expanded perlite.
The acquisition expands Omya's processing capacity for lightweight fillers, adds proprietary, energy-efficient production processes and a unique team of experienced technical experts.
Bublon's technology is based on the controlled thermal expansion of raw perlite using state-of-the-art patented electric furnaces. The products combine improved airtightness and high mechanical strength with a low carbon footprint.
