International. During the AIA Conference on Architecture 2022 held in Chicago (USA), which was attended by former President Barack Obama, the US multinational presented a series of products and services aimed at architects, designers and others.
PPG highlighted its Coraflon Platinum powder coating to create never-before-possible powder finishes, including mineral tones, textures and appearances of anodizing, stone and terracotta.
At the same time, the company exhibited the Duranar liquid coating, "with proven aesthetics and durability for distinguished buildings around the world, including the Empire State Building and the Louvre Pyramid."
Next to these appeared the Durastar silicone polyester coating that "offers an ultra-durable single layer system and provides a smooth and finished appearance, while offering exceptional hardness and resistance to scratches and damage."
Finally, PPG exhibited the Copper Armor liquid coating, which is an interior paint with antiviral and antibacterial properties. The efficacy of the product was measured by tests that simulate real-world contamination as mandated by the EPA for products claiming to be against harmful pathogens.
"The AIA Conference on Architecture is the industry's most anticipated annual event. Since we last met two years ago, PPG has launched several new innovations for the architectural market, including PPG Coraflon Platinum and Copper Armor coatings," said Kevin Braun, vice president of global industrial coatings at PPG Industries.
Visitors also learned about PPG's high-performance floor coatings, including general-purpose, chemical- and wear-resistant formulations, and PPG PSX 700 coating, which is a patented advancement for long-term steel protection.
