United States. Eastman Chemical Company said it has completed a new isobutyric acid manufacturing plant at its Kingsport, Tennessee, plant and expects production to begin in the coming weeks.
The new facility, when added to the isobutyric acid manufacturing facility in Longview, Texas, doubles Eastman's production capacity.
"This additional production facility establishes Eastman as the premier supplier of isobutyric acid to the global market," said Brian Sanders, director of the acetyl and amine products division of the chemical intermediates segment. "The investment demonstrates our continued commitment to providing a reliable supply of isobutyric acid to customers worldwide and meeting product demand in the market."
Eastman's isobutyric acid can be found in several applications in various markets, including protective coatings, agricultural intermediates, food flavors and fragrances.
